ADA
ADA is based at Via dei Genovesi 35, in the Trastevere district. It was originally founded as a project space and later converted into a commercial gallery in September 2018. Its program is dedicated to promoting young Italian and international artists, with a preference for the solo show format. Since 2019, the gallery has also opened its programming to live performance. In 2023, Carla Chiarchiaro received the Diana Bracco Award – Imprenditrici ad Arte, in recognition of her commitment to research.
Rome’s artistic landscape is defined by a natural layering in which the ancient, the modern, and the contemporary all converge into the city’s vast and tangible history. Within the field of contemporary art, the role of private galleries is to give voice to research and to recent artistic practices, so that artists may carry the memory of our time into the future.

Rome allows everyone to be who they wish to be. There is no canon or trend one is expected to conform to.
Rome allows everyone to be who they wish to be. There is no canon or trend one is expected to conform to. This sense of self-determination, together with a certain nonchalance, makes for complete freedom in shaping the program and, consequently, allows the gallery to establish itself with a strong and recognizable identity.
In recent years, many artists have chosen to join forces and establish shared studios outside the city center, where costs would otherwise be unsustainable. Together, despite the challenges of navigating a city like Rome, they have succeeded in creating genuine artistic hubs—centers of production and debate—located in more peripheral areas, yet still capable of attracting both art professionals and a wider public.
I learned it from my most loyal collectors: we are all part of the same team—myself, them, and the artists. As I always say, the support and advocacy of collectors who are genuinely close to the gallery’s vision is undoubtedly one of the most effective tools for growth and promotion.
