About
In its fourth edition, Roma Gallery Weekend – Contemporanea is an initiative conceived and organized by contemporary art galleries active in Rome, with the goal of recording, mapping, and enhancing the artistic vibrancy that characterizes the city.
The project takes its name from the groundbreaking exhibition organized by Incontri Internazionali d’Arte and curated by Achille Bonito Oliva in 1973 at the Villa Borghese parking lot, which highlighted the vitality of art beyond traditional canons. Fifty years later, Rome’s art galleries have embraced this narrative to reposition Rome at the center of the international cultural landscape.
