Taken as a whole, the artist’s practice can be described as driven by a pronounced tendency toward the assemblage and juxtaposition of heterogeneous elements, whose compositional outcomes – both three and two-dimensional – consistently oscillate between narrative tension and a distinctive expressive impulse oriented toward the specific qualities of each medium. The exhibition presents a new body of work produced by Parise throughout 2025, including a group of sculptures that, through different formal solutions – most notably the interaction between ceramic and found objects – give shape to a variety of bizarre humanoid figures, seemingly yet ambiguously related to one another.
